The launch event of Arts NAIDOC at the Regional Arts Gallery may have been cancelled, but the exhibition is still on and you should definitely go and have look. “Black Keys To Unity”, a collaboration between Photopia Studio’s owner William Debois and musicians from the local community is one of the highlights of this exciting art exhibition. COMING UP: Black Keys To Unity, a collaborative photography project exploring the way music is used as a universal language to preserve traditions, share culture and unite families, will soon be on display at the Regional Art Gallery & Museum in Gladstone. Alongside work by Katrina Eliott and many other contributors, these photographs William Debois took over the last few months will form a part of Arts NAIDOC, a month long celebration of the National NAIDOC Week theme “Our Languages Matter”. ‘Saiki Children’s Day 2017’: having close to 1000 primary school children attend an event in an art gallery is quite remarkable and we are very grateful to have had the opportunity to capture this special occasion. Children can still visit and take part in the various activities for another week art the Regional Art Gallery.
