It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of Uncle Richard Johnson on 18th December. We got to photograph and hear Uncle Richard on many occasions as he was delivering the Welcome to Country, each time personalising it so it was relevant to the event. Earlier this year we had the honor of being the camera crew for Auntie Kay Butler as she interviewed him for the Our Priceless Past videos series. The memories and cultural knowledge he shared on that day opened our minds in many ways. Uncle Richard’s wisdom, warmth and generosity will be greatly missed and we wish to present our condolences to his family and to his community, who cherished him as an elder.
